Want to learn more about the marine wildlife that live in the North Sea?

Book yourself onto the DFDS Amsterdam marine wildlife mini cruise and learn about these creatures on a two-night short break to The Netherlands.

Sail between Newcastle and Amsterdam and keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, whales, porpoise and more in their natural habitat.

They can be tricky to spot but the inclusive workshops and activities for children and adults may help.

When the light fades enjoy a meal on-board, a drink in the bar with the extra helping of live entertainment, or head back to your comfortable en-suite cabin.

The following morning you'll dock in Ijmuiden where a coach will whisk you to Amsterdam city centre.

Spend the day exploring the city on your own at your own pace. The Het Scheepvaartmuseum (The National Maritime Museum) may well be an appropriate attraction to head to. If you are taking the kids with you then the NEMO Science Museum is another great choice.

At the end of the day catch the return coach back to the port for your overnight sailing back to Newcastle.

The dull-but-necessary small print

All deals are subject to availability and can be withdrawn by the operator without prior notice. The lead-in prices (otherwise known as the 'from' prices) are, unless otherwise stated above, based on two adults sharing the cheapest available cabin on the cheapest available date. Typically the best prices are available at the start of any promotion period so the earlier you book the better choice of sailing dates and cabin availability you should have. Mid-week sail dates are likely to be cheaper than weekend sail dates.
