Here's a great mini cruise break perfect for families sailing from Newcastle to Amsterdam.

Stay in an en-suite cabin on the overnight sailing from the Port of Tyne in Newcastle to Ijmuiden, a short distance from the vibrant city of Amsterdam.

There's plenty to do on-board during your sailing and there is a choice of cabin grades to suit your budget.

When the ferry arrives in Ijmuiden the following morning, a coach will be waiting to transfer you to Amsterdam Zoo. Here you will have around 5 hours to explore Artis Zoo at your leisure.

There's so much to do in Amsterdam Zoo that you may not be able to cram it all in (so you're planning your next holiday already then?!). The zoo is split into five distinct areas:

  • Aquarium
  • Botanical gardens
  • Zoological museum
  • Geological museum
  • Planetarium

Amsterdam Zoo covers an area of around 14 hectares and is one of the oldest zoos in Europe. Established back in 1838, around 700 different species of fish, birds, mammals and insects can be found at Artis Zoo!

A coach transfer takes you back to the ferry for an overnight sailing from Amsterdam back to Newcastle, where you can again take advantage of the on-board entertainment and sleep in a cabin from a selection to suit all budgets and needs.

Amsterdam Zoo Mini Cruises sail throughout the year from Newcastle.

What makes this deal attractive? Your Zoo tickets and overseas transfers are included in the price, making it as hassle-free as possible.

The dull-but-necessary small print

All deals are subject to availability and can be withdrawn by the operator without prior notice. The lead-in prices (otherwise known as the 'from' prices) are, unless otherwise stated above, based on two adults sharing the cheapest available cabin on the cheapest available date. Typically the best prices are available at the start of any promotion period so the earlier you book the better choice of sailing dates and cabin availability you should have. Mid-week sail dates are likely to be cheaper than weekend sail dates.
